Cooksville, WI, was last weekends destination for Don's training ride. The Bombay Bicycle Club of Madison, puts out a guide for bicycling around Madison and south central Wisconsin. The spiral notebook of maps is divided into routes (each with it's own colorful name, thus today's blog title), from those in and around the city, then extended rides using 15-40 miles loops that go out into the countryside, with 40-100 mile routes next (which Don's Cooksville ride is in), and finally finishing with the 100 mile "expeditions".I again packed lunch (and a "pigs ear" for Copper), meeting Don on the village green of Cooksville. This was Copper's first time joining us and it was a great place to start her on her "sag wagon" duties, which included "checking out the entire area where we will be eating", "being a gracious hostess and greeting Don ecstatically as he pulls up to the selected spot", and finally, "cleaning up any leftovers from lunch". :)
Here is Don "tweaking" the route for his ride back home.
The old schoolhouse, that is now rented out occasionally for parties, etc.
Ready to "hit the road..........".
