Don's sister Bonnie will be celebrating a birthday soon (a "special" one!), so I knitted this vest for her. I used the pattern called "Valour" from Sarah Hutton's book, The Colorscape Chunky Collection (http://bleudetoiles.oxatis.com/PBPhotos.asp?CatID=349652). "Chunky" refers to the size of the yarn, NOT the pattern. :) Each pattern uses Rowan Colorscape Yarn, designed by Kaffe Fasset (http://www.kaffefassett.com/knitting.htm). The color of yarn I used is called "Northern Lights".
On Saturday afternoon, our neighbor, Mary, stopped by to visit as I sat out on the deck knitting, while Don worked in the driveway, prepping his bikes for the upcoming riding "season". We persuaded her to model the sweater vest to get a better view of it.
This yarn is spun using lambs wool, so it is extremely soft, too.
