"Packer Yarn?"

Any Packer fans out there? Some of my yarn dyeing took a path that I wasn't planning on........

My pot of Jacquard Aztec Gold........

After exhausting the gold dye, I added a glass measuring cup filled with Jacquard Bright Blue to the dye pot, and placed one end of the already dyed gold yarn into that. I know my color wheel, but evidently wasn't thinking.........I was "hoping" the Bright Blue would remain blue. So not the case.......

Nope.....the dye did what it predictably would do......turn the gold into Packer Green. ;)

This photo doesn't do the colors justice (the flash photo was too bright, this one too dark), but they truly do seem to be the Packer colors. I'm kind of anxious now to see what type of pattern will emerge when I weave it into a scarf. Time will tell, eh? ;)

I love to dye and overdye! This is when some of the most amazing colorways appear. Have you ever tried to dye a grey or brown wool? Ohhhh, such wonderful colors that you don't get when dyeing white.

Great yarn! I should show you my packer bands sometime. They are inkle bands I wove during Super Bowl games. It's a superstition thing. ;)
