We'd decided to take the Shelter Island Ferry to get back to Greenport, which meant riding it twice, since we were coming from the South Fork of Long Island. The ride from the South Fork to Shelter Island, which was very short, for some reason cost more than the ride from Shelter Island to Greenport, which was easily 3 or 4 times longer! They must be happier seeing people go rather than come there, eh? ;)
It had been overcast all day and this was about as bright as it got.........

A nice walk around the downtown. This is permanently located in the park along one of the marinas.
They're not as fancy as the carousel horses at Vilas Zoo, but certainly give the kids as nice a ride......and as much fun, too.
