"HOLY GAS PRICES!!!!!"

I don't normally write an entry for this blog on a weekend, but I just got back from the gas station and felt the "need" to write about my experience.

I have been shopping for groceries at Copp's as of late, basically because it is almost next to where I go for physical therapy. Anyway, Copp's has the "Perks" program with the BP gas company. Each time I shop and use my "rewards card", I receive so many "perk points". I had not used my card at the gas station before until today...........DAMN!!!!! I SAVED $2.20 PER GALLON OF GAS!!!!!!!! I paid 56 cents per gallon!!!!! (I bought Silver) What would have cost me $36.83, I paid $7.46!! Am I crazy for being excited? LOL

"Much Wishful Thinking....."

Don and I went to look at a condo in Highland Woods. I have loved these condos since the first time I saw them.


The open house we went to last Sunday was a free standing unit (except that the neighbors garage is attached to it).


It has a 3 season porch on the back.....

"Planting....."

When Don was in the hospital, his co-workers sent him a basket with a mixture of plants in it. They have gotten larger and it was time that each one or type was re-potted into their own pots.

I love having a greenhouse for just this purpose. Unfortunately, that is one of the few uses we have for the greenhouse. I had hoped we'd be able to start plants in the Spring, but have found it is too cold, due to not enough sun (our backyard is covered by a wide canopy of oak trees) to keep things growing without having a heat source. I have, however, been able to hold over some plants into the Fall for a longer harvest, so I just have to be content with that. ;)


Thia is one of the plants from Don's basket, along with a hanging pot of impatiens. I have 5 pots of impatiens around the backyard. 2 are outside the greenhouse door and the other 3 are on the chicken run fencing.

A self taken photo of Julie in the sweater I hand spun, hand dyed, and knit for her. As many of you know, Patrick and Julie are expecting their first child in November.....OUR 1st Grandchild!!! They found out last Monday that the baby is a girl. :) This photo was taken before I was told about the baby.....she was 10 weeks along.

"Oh, What a Night......."

Last Friday's happy hour was a HUGE success! We had many former neighbors, current neighbors, old friends, and some new friends, stop by to visit, that the scene/mix was changing constantly. It was a very nice time!

"Here's Lookin' at Ya!"

My cousin Jill, from Michigan, sent these photos of a Box Turtle that her husband Joe found when out mowing their lawn. Their grand daughters were coming to visit last weekend and they thought about keeping it to show the girls, but Jill said she felt guilty about keeping it captive, so they let the turtle go. Unfortunately, when they went on a turtle hunt last weekend, it was no where to be found.

Doesn't he/she seem to be looking at the camera defiantly?


He/she was a good sized Box Turtle. It has definitely found a good environment to live and thrive.
