We chose to start the "tour" by driving North into Leelaunau Peninsula along West Bay on M22. After stopping in Sutton's Bay to browse and have lunch, we continued up along the shore of West Bay, stopping at the 45th Parallel Park. I had wanted to stop at the Park and take photos so that I could compare them to last Octobers photos, that I took while on my visit up here for Granddaughter Abigail's 3rd birthday.
Of course, this year I was accompanied by Don, Barb, and Geoff. :)
Here is a photo which I took while standing at the waters edge "this" year.........
And this was taken last October, where I also stood at the waters edge. Impressive gain, eh?
This years photo towards the North......
Compared to last year.....
And this years looking to the South towards Sutton's Bay.....
And again, last years photo.
There has been some recovery from the open Winter and following Summer drought of a few years ago, but as you can see from these photos, there is still shoreline that is exposed that is "normally" underwater. We've had seemingly good rainfall so far this Fall, and hopefully the snow cover will be sufficient this Winter to help towards raising the water level even more.
Barb and Geoff's visit to be continued.....
